We encourage you to use this column in conjunction with the sos_voter_status and txt_voter_status_reason columns to ensure that you get the fullest picture possible of the registration status associated with the row. State registration definitions will vary by state and in some cases these Civitech statuses combine and generalize across those different definitions.

VALUE	DESCRIPTION
ACTIVE	A voter that is able to vote on a regular ballot.
NOT ACTIVE	A term that is often used differently across states. It can mean a registrant that in some states may be able to vote on a regular ballot. In others, they may be missing a step required by the SOS to vote on a regular ballot. Please consult the sos_registration_status and sos_registration_status_reason columns along with the Civitech Voter Status Dictionary for additional information.
NOT REPORTED	State does not provide a registration status.
